Janma karma ca me divyam evam yo vetti tattvatah tyaktva deham punar janma naiti mam eti so 'rjuna [BG 4:9] One who knows the transcendental nature of My appearance and activities does not, upon leaving the body, take his birth again in this material world, but attains My eternal abode, O Arjuna. Sri Krishna Janmashtami – the appearance of of Lord Krishna – is one of the biggest events of the year signifying Lord Krishna‘s advent 5,000 years ago in this material world from the spiritual world. The name Krishna means “All-Attractive.” Lord Krishna exhibits six opulences in full: beauty, knowledge, fame, wealth, strength, and renunciation. Thus, He is worshipped as “The Supreme All-Attractive Personality of Godhead.” ISKCON Tampa celebrates with lot of festivity and with participation in performances of music, dance, kids activities, and chanting in glorification of the enchanting pastimes of the Lord. The festival normally leads up to the midnight hour at which Lord Krishna appears. A midnight service accompanied by kirtan and dancing is followed by a variety of vegetarian prasadam.
