As taking bath purifies our body , similarly donating for a spiritual cause purifies our earnings. Those who are versed in and follow the Vedic teachings know that it is a worthy spiritual cause to contribute to and support the Guru, the Temple, and the Preaching efforts of the devotees. It is also understood that this is a valid way to make spiritual advancement for oneself and their family.
